Trump Wants A Recession (Article of the week)
Two Dividend Stocks To Prepare
As you know by my name, I love dividends. And in addition to sharing on here, I write regularly in the investment platform- Seeking Alpha.
My goal there is to teach everyday investors about building wealth, so they won’t to need to work to traditional retirement age.
I want to help you take control of your life, have F.I.R.E.
And the platform allows writers to share one article once a week free of charge. So, I like to share them with all my current & future subscribers. (see below)
I’ve been saying for months that I think President Trump wants a recession. The immigration crack down and firing of Federal workers amidst the current government shutdown seem to be indicators.
Of course, this is all speculation on my part. But some may be wondering why he would want a recession? Trump is a billionaire. He knows how money works. With interest rates historically high, the cost of borrowing is expensive.
The government is drowning in debt right now and with current interest rates, this means we will owe trillions in interest alone. So, what’s one way to engineer a recession?
Job losses! In the coming months, I expect unemployment to continue to rise, forcing a potential recession. Once interest rates come down, the rich & wealthy will pounce. There will be volatility in the housing and stock markets.
Some will sell their stocks and wait, which I don’t suggest. And some, like me, will stay invested and continue to dollar-cost average. Of course, some sectors and individual stocks will continue to do well.
Especially, those who pay dividends as these can help investors stomach volatility. And I present two in this week’s article of the week.

Nice article, Div_Collectuh. Concur. Your reasoning and “indicator” support is right on.
I voted for Trump. Ya gotta either hopelessly love this country or be a glutton for punishment to want that job (President)!
And for all the grotesque congressional greed and gross neglect on BOTH sides, WE have successfully collectively engineered a Slow-motion Unavoidable Train Wreck. BEST form of government I believe, however, the inherent conflict of interest surrounding Congressional self-interest and BUDGET is THE tragic flaw in Congress Rule in a democratic republic.
Only cure is Jesus, imo, who will one day govern.
