Why Staying Invested Is So Important
"Time in the Market Beats Timing the Market"
As you know by my name, I love dividends. And in addition to sharing on here, I write regularly on the investment platform- Seeking Alpha.
My goal there is to teach everyday investors about building wealth, so they won’t to need to work to traditional retirement age.
I want to help you take control of your life, have F.I.R.E.
Here at Dividend Collection Agency the goal is to give investors and/or readers a different perspective. We take a simple approach to building wealth. And although investing may seem easy, people often miss opportunities by over complicating it. But we are here to help.

Above is a chart showing how much $1 invested in the stock market would have grown from 1870 - 2020.
In 1929, the market crashed 79%, the worst drop in history. Afterward, it took four years but it recovered.
The second worst was a 54% decline from 2000 - 2009, also known as the dot.com bust. It took almost 13 years to recover, but it did.
During COVID the market declined 34%. COVID also saw the fastest recovery after only four months.
And 2022? The market declined 25% due to inflation worries and the Federal Reserve’s rapid rate hikes.
And still, with those declines, that $1 grew to more than $22,000 over 150 years.
This is why the rich don’t sell their stocks, they borrow against them. And pass them down to their heirs.
Moral of the story?
Time in the market beats timing the market.
Markets will always crash, but always recover. Stay invested to build wealth.
I constantly hear people saying stay away from the stock market because it’s going to crash.
Market crashes transfer wealth from those who panic to those who are prepared.
No matter what someone tells you, no one can predict when a market crash will happen, or for how long.
But what I can tell you is that the stock market will always correct and / or crash and recover. That’s what it was designed to do.
If the stock market fails, the U.S. economy fails. And the powers that be won’t let that happen.
Something else they won’t tell you but I will is that the stock market is “rigged”. But unlike most, instead of complaining, learn how to play the game.
At DCA, we’re about teaching the correct mindset to build wealth and achieve financial freedom.
No courses. Just perspective.
Mindset = Strategy.
And this is how you can become successful at investing.
Happy Investing!

Thank you for this great PSA post! Investors need constant reminders that the time they have available is as great a resource (if not even greater) than the capital they can invest.
